NEW DELHI: A massive fire broke out at Satpura Bhawan in Bhopal on Monday afternoon that has been brought under control after over 13 hours of firefighting.
Critical records housed within the Satpura Bhawan were burnt to ashes. The documents destroyed may include several files sought by CBI in connection with their probe into the ‘nursing college recognition scam’ and Covid expenditure files, sources say.
Unconfirmed reports indicate files and documents kept in the complaint branch of the EOW and Lokayukta were also burnt.
Service records of employees, transfer and posting orders, complaint letters, investigation-related documents, nursing staff records, confidential reports, service books, as well as documents related to complaints filed with the Lokayukta and assembly-related information, are among the vital records that may have been lost.
